US Arrival

Yesterday, I began the journey back to the United States, leaving Rhyan and Lauren in their beautiful little home in Guatemala.

The Lord truly blessed them with all their needs being met and lots of desires, too. I thank God for His guidenance in their lives, as well as Randy and Gwendolyn's. It is good to know that God is in control.

My flight was a direct flight, (thank you Rhyan!) and was not bad at all. They would not let Rhyan into the airport, which killed Rhyan and made me a nervous wreck, plus I had purse, laptop and two bags!! But it all worked out, I know Rhyan suffered more, wondering if I made it by myself or was sitting in the airport still! They gave me two papers to fill out while in line for my ticket, then sent me to pay for the security for the airport (I wonder if that would be not letting Rhyan in kind of security?), gave me more paperwork, sent me through another door; to security and on to my gate. Plane was delayed 45 minutes. I was very happy to realize I could understand everyone perfectly in both English and Spanish!

The pilot told us to look at the formation of the gulf below, you could see the Texas shoreline as we crossed into the US at Corpus Christi. He said, "Welcome to the United States of America, and a very warm welcome to the great state of Texas".

Arrival in DFW was just as nice. It took a while for my two checked bags to get down, Rebecca thinks they may have to go through X-Ray before you can get them, it did take a while, I was starting to think about joining others sitting on the floor! Through the last door, around a corner, and there sits Madison and Rebecca...and Rebecca had already located the nearest bathroom for me!

Lanny should be here today. Pray for us as we try to decide in what order to do all the many things we have to do!

Long Weekend

I left Jimenez at 4:00 A.M. on Friday morning for El Paso. I picked up Marco in Jimenez and Mayo in Camargo. Made it ti El Paso for lunch. Dropped off my trailer at Omar's house in Juarez. Left Mayo to meet his brother. Met with Tony's group for supper and got to bed after 11:00 P.M. Got up early and met group for breakfast and took them to the airport for their returne flight home. Did my shopping. Took Marco's laptop back to Best Buy ( again !!! ). Went back to Juarez and loaded my van and trailer with all of Omar and Cherish's things and left for Jimenez after lunch. Went through militaty checkpoint then aduana ( paid taxes ). Then almost ran out of diesel because of two stations being closed. Was stopped three more times before making it to Chihuahua. Once by Federales, once soldiers and once by judiciales. Was in a rush to get to Chihuahua because Marco was to sing at a consert to honor one of his teachers at the University of Chihuahua. Made it there 45 min before consert started. Did my shopping at Sam's for Gwen. Left Chihuahua after 7:00 P.M. for Jimenez. Broke down in Delicias. Alternator went out. Made it to an Auto Zone just befor it closed at 10:00 P.M. Bought a charger and disconected my alternator and let it charge until midnight. Made it about 60 miles and no more lights. Stopped at a toll booth after following a bus with my lights off for about half an hour. Charged batteries 'till about 4:30 A.M. then left for Jimenez. Made it home at 6:45 A.M. on Sunday morning. Took a shower and ate and started getting ready for Church. Led the singing and translated twice in the morning. No nap ( visitors). Led singing and translated in the evening. Made it to bed by 10:00 P.M. Up early and had van to shop by 8:00 A.M. Lots to do today.

I wouldn't trade what I do for anything in the world. I was able to take a young man ( Marco ) to cancel his visa at the border. We talked the whole way about how to better serve the Lord. I took a young pastor ( Mayo ) to visit his brother who had been in a car wreck... he is fine. I was able to meet with a group, and buy some clothes for my wife and soon to be newborn baby. Then help move a struggling young married couple to a place where the is a good church. I also witnessed to three mechanics during the night. Made it home to kiss my wife and children and worship on Sunday.

Why all this? Because He is worthy.

"Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created." Revelation 4:11

I'm so glad we made it to Anitgua! Gloria a Dios!!!! I love it here, and I know God has so many good things planned for us!!!

Hey Mom, Rebecca needs to know when you will be back in Ft. Worth...something about the house. Love you, have fun!

ARRIVED!

Yea! We are in Antigua, Guatemala! We arrived last night. The traffic was terrible from the border, it rained HARD, roads were under construction... typical problems. The computers were down at the border, so dad stayed with the bus, we went on with tourist papers in the car. He arrived this morning.

I'm not sure about Antartica . . . but Southern Mexico is not internet friendly. Rhyan tried in two different places, but could not get online. Here in Antigua, the main plaza is Wi-Fi!

I love everyone!

MOM

Hi Randy

Lauren and Rhyan called us Wednesday night and they were in Tapachula at the border, and were hoping that all went well and they would be in Antigua Thursday. They were going to have to off-load the belongings from Lanny's bus and find a place to store them quickly because he only had a certain amount to time to get to Costa Rica. That's what I understood anyway. At least you know they are alright! Maybe we'll hear from them today.

Donde estan?

Where are you? We haven't heard from you in a few and are starting to get a little worried. I guess you are where there is no internet service. Like at Antartica or something. Whatever! We miss you.

We had a wonderful time yesterday, finding a place close to the ocean. We rested from the stress of the border and just traveling; a great place for our Bible study and quiet time, gentle waves, a nice breeze...

We will see Jason in the morning, then Tapachula the next day, if all goes well.

A few sites on the way and our 2nd night motel

Hi all!

Thanks so much for inviting me to join the blog! It's great to be able to track the progress! Many people are praying and I know that this is the start of a wonderful, special, God-annointed time of your lives! Will pray that the next border crossing is a little easier and that the buses keep plugging along! Hope ya'll are singing as you go! Love you!

Los Indios Day 2

They enjoyed our company so much they let us stay a whole extra day! They even kept us sitting at the border for hours, just so they could visit and visit and visit and visit...

Finally, all is looked at, moved around and paid for and we traveled to San Fernando for our first night in Mexico. Lanny found a great motel and we ate and rested well.

On the road again!

Just wanted to let you know we made it to Jimenez at about 11:00 p.m. We had a long, long day. Looking forward to getting some sleep. Lots to do tomorrow! --- Randy

Border Crossing

We should be past Tampico by nightfall! IF we ever get our papers and "green light"!

Rhyan and Lauren are putting their prayer letter in the mail before we cross, that is the last item to be completed.

Vera Cruz had a terrible rain storm; electricity out, roads flooded along with a lot of damage to the city. Hopefully, things will be back to normal by the time we reach there tomorrow. Except the roads will be a little worse for wear!

Randy and Gwen should make it to Jimenez, today.

I'm all for it

Hey guys, I'm all for a private blog for the family! I think this would be a great way to stay in touch and share pictures of our adventures around the world or around the corner.

YOU ASK, How do I post?

Just in case you haven't got this one covered. . . top, just right of your e-mail address is the "POST" button. Click, fill in the box, then click the orange "PUBLISH POST" and Viola! you have completed your first post!

Simple, no?

Los Indios

Texas border crossing reached today! Now we have to do all the paperwork, Yuk! Minor problems with bus batteries, though irritating, have been the only trouble, so far.

Tango likes to travel, I think. He loves to explore when we stop and he is funny to watch when he smells a new odor as we travel down the road.

Thanks for your prayers.

A New Day

After a bit of a rough start, we have a brand new day!

After leaving a couple of things at Mary's and saying our goodbyes; we boarded the big yellow bus. But it would not start! It only took a little while to get it going, but when we next stopped for fuel, it would not start! So, on day one, we made it from Mineral Wells to Waco.

After arriving in Waco, Lanny noticed that his last client had left his Costa Rica passport on the bus seat! Sometime during the night, Lanny woke and made his way back to the motel in Burleson with Roberto's passport. Now, at 5:53 a.m. I wait for his return.

I can hear the birds singing so loudly just outside my door. "This is the day that the Lord hath made, we will rejoice and be glad in it."
